I wouldn't have anticipated this is the direction they were going in but seeing it now it makes sense. 

This makes me really curious about their roadmap too. It's become a raspi OS with an app store that happens to have Bitcoin and Lightning on it which is so much more than just a way to run Bitcoin and Lightning on a raspi.

Probably not :) 
There are definitely some things that are quite possible to have on Pi, like BitcoinCore, LND, pi-hole, SimpleTorrent. Some things could be on separate Pis and I don't think it makes sense to have Nextcloud on Pi at all - the way it's implemented it kinda sucks and it's going to be slow to use. 

Do we really want to run all that on a raspberry pi?
