I recently acquired a Flipper Zero in order to learn more about pen testing, radio, and for a bit of fun. After using this device for several weeks I have to say it was a great purchase.
What does it do?
Well, its essentially a hacking tool. If you have tech that uses radio this device probably will allow you to mess with it. Its not really something a professional would use day to day but it packs a lot of functionality into a small pocket friendly device.
If you are curious about NFC, RFID, BlueTooth, WiFi(requires module), and other radio applications I highly recommend it. Once you get the basics down I recommend trying out an alternative firmware like Momentum.
Not only does this little toy like device do a ton out of the box it also is expandable.
I will also say that as I've been going down the rabbit hole of pen testing it kinda blows my mind that we don't see more destructive hacking than we actually do. We are very vulnerable and to me it seems that the number of "bad guys" is relatively small. I don't know if that makes people feel any better but I don't think most criminals are really that smart or clever. Those that are likely do not get caught.
If you are a younger person and looking for a good career, pen testing might be a good option. It seems to be a growing field and as more and more of our lives are online or controlled by tech security will only get more important.

This would be cool, but I would probably have a hard time finding a practical use for it.

Yeah, for most people that is probably true. But if you like to tinker and learn this stuff its great. I'm still figuring out uses for it. I mean its a great universal remote for your TVs, fans, AC, etc.

I would love to hear more about what all it does! I am not well versed in coding and the kinds of tech it seems to require but it does seem like a good way to learn more about it and expand my knowledge!

I think somone explained that you could use it to open car and garage doors.
It would be cool to have a shopstr store selling flipper zero/meshtastic/seedsigner/bitaxe parts.

Most cars use rolling codes and good garage doors do as well. But with some skill and modules one could use this to subvert both. Based on my research. There are far more powerful tools though for doing this.
The bluetooth denial of service attack I tested the other day is pretty wild. Can completely freeze up an iPhone with ease.

There are a lot of use cases which is why I’m interested in hear from someone using how it does!

Doesn't require any coding skill. I would say if you are technical enough to set up a bitcoin node you could handle this. I started with the stock firmware but flashing it really opens up its potential.
