As I have talked about before I wish he would just retire. Before my brain surgeries and all the health issues that came with that the first issue I had was concussion issues. My second concussion resulted in me losing 8 months of memory and having to be briefly hospitalized. I didn't get this one in any crazy way either I was sitting on a rubber maid crate and tried to kill a ball and fell back. The crate was 12 inches off the ground and I hit my head on the cement and knew immediately I was concussed again.
I am honestly concerned for his health and well-being even if his O line protects him perfectly. He's still going to get hit and I don't think the hits have to be that big anymore to change his life for the worse possibly permanently.
I know he has the burning desire to compete but he has a whole life ahead of him and has already made a ton of money. Kids are going to look up to him and when they see this I don't think they get a good idea of how bad this injury is or see how sometimes your body just isn't in shape to do it anymore. There is nothing wrong with it either but I don't see how coming back this season was good at all.
I agree with you but the decision is for him and his family not for the rest of us. I don't want to watch him play to be honest. It feels inevitable. Maybe that is a cop out on my part because I watch football all the time knowing these guys are putting their bodies, and future health on the line. I saw Hamlin essentially die on the field and I have no problem watching him play now. I don't get concerned he is going to take a hit and have his heart stop again but for some reason it is different with Tua. Maybe it was how the second one he got looked and how badly it was all handled by the Dolphins but I don't want to see his next one.

He had previously talked about how his mom wanted him to walk away from football after what happened a couple of years ago. I just can't imagine that she is feeling any different this time around.
For me, with Tua, I think it's the whole head injury stuff and the delayed effect it can have. Hamlin was so bizarre that I feel I can get my head around it and see how he could return. Tua though I mean even if it doesn't have any more severe ones any more shots to the head are going to be devastating down the line and we have seen what happens to the stars from 10-20 years ago that are now severely disabled because of the hits and I cant recall another player suffering one not to mention two as bad as Tua.
