I wouldn’t call it a market because there are no transactions involved
Then what am I sending BTC to?
reply
You don’t actually send any BTC. It’s just signing a plain text that includes the candidate’s name, time, and other details. You still retain 100% ownership of your coins

Is this a pilot?
reply
It’s not a pilot, but the official launch of KoinVote. However, we are continuously working on improving the UI/UX

So this is light hearted fun ?
reply
Well, is Bitcoin light-hearted fun?
reply
“I just launched this website where you can use Bitcoin to sign and vote in the upcoming U.S. election.”
These aren’t legitimate votes. Thus light hearted fun. Bitcoin is trying to kill fiat money

The votes on KoinVote aren’t meant to be "legitimate" in the traditional sense—they’re more like a decentralized expression of support. It's not about replacing official elections, but about giving Bitcoin holders a voice. Just like Bitcoin itself challenges the traditional financial system, Koinvote aims to demonstrate that political influence can also evolve with decentralized tools. It’s an experiment in freedom and transparency, not just light-hearted fun 🎯
