You may or may not know that I write weekly hiking posts here on SN. In fact, I'm soon coming up to the 1 year anniversary of these posts. I've got the list of all my hiking posts in my bio.
My hiking posts were originally posted on ~earth. When ~earth went into archive, I started posting them on ~Photography. Now that ~Photography is also archived, I'm trying to find a new home for these posts. At first glance, the hiking posts don't seem to belong to any of the currently up and running territories. After some thought, I decided this territory might be a good new home for my hiking posts.
Out of respect, I want to see if territory owner @DesertDave is ok with me posting my future hiking posts here on ~alter_native? Let me know if I have your blessing or if I should bring the posts somewhere else. Thanks!
How do I pronounce your username @gnilma?
Is the g silent and just nilma or is it meant to be g nilma?
reply
I don't even know how to pronounce it. It's a nym I made up online and I don't use it in real life at all, meaning I've never tried to pronounce it. I guess I would say it with the g silent, but you say it which ever way sounds better for you / which ever way you like.

Ok. Just wanted to note your big Frozen Frenzy victory on this week's episode of the pod.

Thank you!

Yes - do it. Looking forward to your posts. I may contribute similar too, though from NZ, in the future. Hikes can be such an adventure and time for contemplation and reflection, as well as survival!

Thanks. NZ as in New Zealand, right? I heard that New Zealand is very beautiful, but I've never been there. Looking forward to your posts.
reply
Yes South Island New Zealand we have a good network of mostly government owned huts that everyone can use and tracks connecting them. Some of the most popular areas are in high demand but there are still many areas where you will see very few other people...just nature largely unspoiled.

~Alter_native welcomes all and everything. I'm posting 'The Daily Zap,' which is a post with Daily News and I could post it elsewhere as well but ~Alter_native is just perfect for posting links a few important, sometimes unheard, recent news links.
reply
I follow your Daily Zap posts, but never realized they were posted in alter_native. I guess that's me being ignorant, haha.

Thanks 🙏 I think Stackers don't pay too much attention on the territory where a post is stocked for most of the times. When it comes to ~alter_native, you never need to think very specific because it can stand for anything and everything. Isn't that cool?
reply
Good idea. @DesertDave is one of the best territory founders.
reply
Indeed it seems so.

That's what we are here for.

I would love to see your hiking post here. That fits in perfectly. My goal is to get awesome unique content here. And to support creators and those who share. I like to zap great content. All are welcome. I let the stackers decide what gets seen. No moderation.

Awesome! Thank you! As usual, next hiking post will get posted on Sunday.

I look forward to it. alter_native isn't going anywhere.
