there have been many debates of what is bitcoin. i say, it's not as important what bitcoin is, but rather what role is being played while using bitcoin. here are some roles of bitcoin that i think about:

• bitcoin the code (don't ask me to read the code, i have no idea what it means! i barely know how to verify the signatures).
• bitcoin the asset (when someone has control of a number of sats thru seeds, nodes, code, etc.).
• bitcoin the network (communications, connections, distribution, education, meetups, families).
• bitcoin the hardware/software (if my bitcoin doesn't work right now, that means my hardware/software/connection is glitching).
• bitcoin the way of life (if it's worth some sats, it's probably worth living for).
• bitcoin the trust (the code, people, hardware, software, mentality taken together is a pretty reliable way to delegate trust, if used correctly).
