It’s illegal in Switzerland to mow your lawn on Sundays

In Switzerland, you’re not allowed to mow your lawn, build anything, wash your car or hang clothes out to dry on Sundays. The Swiss believe Sunday is a day for rest and noisy and annoying household chores shouldn’t interfere with everyone’s relaxation.

I really hate when somebody quote "something is illegal". TOTAL BULLSHIT!

reply

I’m still very confused by this text overlay. This is the moment that Darth Vader is arresting Princess Leia for stealing the Death Star plans. I agree with the sentiment, but the text bubbles should be swapped.

reply

That's the whole point of the irony. LOL people do not get the Darth's irony, neither understand the role of Darth in the whole Star Wars universe. Guys, please re-watch the whole story of Star Wars, but following the Darth's narrative. You are missing the whole point of the whole saga!

reply

Ok, that explains so much. lol Thanks!

reply

Darth is The Balance into The Force... not the villain.

reply

There's no such law in Switzerland. #693963

reply

Illegal is made up. Fuck that shit.

reply

Yeah! But in Switzerland, people are all about following the rules and backing up their government. You know about those town hall meetings where they vote on stuff? It's all about the people's power! I've got a friend who got in trouble with the law for moving their couch on a Sunday. Insane!

reply

The link that you provided does not tell this fact. It's also not a legitimate fact. Instead it's associated with no noise rule which does not specify lawn mowing.

The noise rules are everywhere. Can you use your mower at nights in your country, if it produces noise.

Anyways, your link doesn't specify that lawn mowing is illegal on Sundays in Switzerland.

reply

Victim ?

reply

Sorry about that, I messed up when I copied the link. The link I grabbed was the wrong one, it's the one marked in the picture. I clicked on it to check it out and then just copied it over.

I did some digging and this is the best I could find.

Obviously, the lawn rule only applies if it's noisy. If you can do it quietly, you should be fine, but don't be surprised if people give you weird looks!

So what now? Congratulations! You only had 2 zappers and my comment had 9 zappers with 1k+ zaps, even then I lost. This top rank decider is out of my understanding.

reply

Yours was still behind @suraz fact

reply

I have a hunch about what happened. But I can't say for sure, so I'll keep it to myself. It's definitely something to think about, though.

reply

That is similar to a rule that stores are closed on Sundays. Idiotic. Free country, free market, let people live and stop coming up with ways to regulate their lives.

reply

As a german i do not understand why this is not normal.

A non-fact

Everything is an illusion. All that we perceive to be fact is simply a reflection that we perceive as truth, based on our own beliefs, shaped by "our own" experience. We are all one. Non of this is real. We never die. We have always been here and we will I've forever. Time is not real. I live in the 5 dimension. When we dream we go home. Sounds made up, right? 💚

If the Internet were weighed, it would weigh about 2 ounces (50 grams). How does one measure the weight of the Internet? Physicist Russel Seitz measured the weight of multiple billions of electrons which make up the data that we send back and forth every day.

https://bluespan.com/blog/20-interesting-facts-about-the-internet

reply

Nah.

reply

Does it weigh 50 grams or nothing?

reply

It's about 3 fluid ounces in volumetric cubic density by my estimation. Words....

reply

Alright, the math checks out with 50 grams. So, this is definitely a fact!

reply

We better inscribe it in stone on the Bitcoin block chain. Verified fact forever. Never to be considered again.

reply

Spamming the blockchain is not a solution, in my opinion. To be considered established knowledge, we must publish this finding in a peer-reviewed physics journal.

reply

Per reviewed nonsense. My wife came from that world. There is nothing set in stone in science. When have humans ever gotten it right? It's always evolving. It's all paid for illusion. Truth is from within. And no one needs to know or consider how much the internet weighs. That's an absurd waste of energy and time.

Octopuses have three hearts and blue blood! Two hearts pump blood to the gills, while the third pumps it to the rest of the body. Their blood is blue because it uses copper-based hemocyanin to carry oxygen, which works better in cold, low-oxygen environments.

“Did you know that honey never spoils? Archaeologists have found pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that are over 3,000 years old and still perfectly edible!
