Is there a solution that would allow services to charge a lightning node on a subscription basis, i.e. once a month?
Or alternatively, a way to configure a lightning node to perform payments monthly?

AFAIK Alby Hub Cloud service charges users monthly payment using Nostr Wallet Connect

I'll check it out, thanks!

@zaprite has also launched recurring payments lately

I would like to approve every single payment. Otherwise i lose track of where my money go. Even now I don't use subscription services for this reason. And when I do I pay and cancel immediately (and get asked why I cancel).

Hey, that's a valid concern. I've started building a CLI tool that will allow you to setup recurring lightning payments from your own node. There won't be any approval though - you approve it by setting it up. But you gave me an idea about a notification when a payment happens.

NWC seems to be the way. Alby also created AutoZap a while back.

last few times i tried to use autozap, it just doesnt work. i have used it successfully maybe 6 months ago. same for you?

Yeah I’m afraid you’re right unfortunately. This might have something to do with it. https://m.stacker.news/49250

It also could be AutoZap in general not working because it doesn’t seem to accept a NWC string from cashu.me either. 🤔
