I do like how they accept bets in 30 different cryptos instead of only USDC like Polymarket does. Granted I cant use it living in the US but competition is always good.
Esp nice to see sports betting coming online soon with Formula 1 being the highlighted one... F1 and Soccer would make the most sense given how it operates only outside the US
Wake me up when they are building it on lightning instead of VC exit liquidity chain.

Yeah I think that is going to take some time esp for people who are introducing themselves to crypto for the first time. At least in my case learning the LN and how it works hasn't been the most straightforward and easy-to-grasp thing. There just seem to be a lot of things missing esp when you compare it to EVM compatible chains.
Can LN get there 110% but right now it just isn't there compared to others it seems
reply
Yes the scams are missing. Haha
Lightning is already faster, cheaper, has more privacy by default than all of them. The only difference is lightning development and UX improvements take time because they are using an honest money instead of selling vapourware tokens to fund development.

wait..... are you telling me there arent supposed to be scams?!?!?!??! I sir have some big questions then!
reply
There will always be scams but hopefully less in the bitcoin ecosystem.
reply
Yeah I think if BTC keeps its whole idea and doesn't start trying to be something like ETH or the other chains it will be fine. In my eyes those chains and BTC are two entirely separate use cases and we should avoid making BTC be more or to much like EVM chains

I have a bit of a different thesis than crypto people. I think eventually bitcoin will get integrated into existing internet infrastructure whereas crypto people think everything will be rebuilt on chain. I think it’s naive to think that. There may be some narrow use cases that make more sense on chain but the idea that everything will be rebuilt on the blockchain is silly and really infeasible.

@Cje95 Some people like variety, I get it, but the U.S. is all about the GREENBACK, not 30 different cryptos. As for Formula 1, it's no NASCAR. And Soccer? Please...it's called FOOTBALL in the U.S. for a reason, folks. Bring the jobs and betting back HOME, make America bet AGAIN! #AmericaFirst #NoToCryptoBets #NASCARoverF1

You can use it, just have to vpn.

Yeah I feel though with my job, since I work for Congress, I really shouldn't participate at the moment lol
reply
Who will know?
reply
TBH the US government has the capability to break almost all VPNs and backtrace.... Same with the "private" cryptos like Monero and zcash... they can track all that stuff lol
reply
If they can break Moneros amount and address encryption they can do the same thing to your Bitcoin private keys...
reply
Not quite... that would require functioning quantum computing which in the future could be an issue but not at the moment and more importantly would sink the entire way the world works at the moment because nothing would be safe.
reply
Lmao your explanation is also an argument for Moneros encryption too
Matter of fact Moneros amount privacy is quantum computer proof because pedersen commitments are "perfectly hiding". Same thing for receiver privacy if an adversary can only observe the chain and doesn't have access to the original address.
reply
But… the government already broke it so it’s obviously not quantum proof and we don’t even know what quantum proof completely looks like anyways we think we do but since the tech isn’t there yet we aren’t quite sure. Yes D Wave is leading the way and Google isn’t far behind but it’s still no where close to where it needs to be.
No way....you dont say. Are you saying my incognito tab doesnt work?
reply
</3 sadly tis just an illusion lol
Congressional jobs have no HR and virtually no type of support if there are issue and if a Member wants you gone you can be fired without cause or recourse lololololololol its greatttttttttttttttttttttttt

That doesnt sound like a good job.
