im just winging it still. i check the number of LN nodes and then i check the number of active adresses.
I use https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/activeaddresses-btc-sma30.html#3y and https://lightningnetwork.plus/nodes respectively but there are probably better ways :) Does the job for me tho.
I also just check https://mempool.space to see how are fees and mempool doing
https://transactionfee.info/ has some interesting niche charts like number of taproot input outputs, but also fees per day in BTC and USD etc. Worth checking out imo
