Day 2 of expressing myself until I posted the interview with @plebpoet
world of yous
seeing yourself in others are these your emotions or are you just feeling the world? telling yourself apart from the world makes you feel like you don’t belong being a part of the world makes you feel like losing yourself riding into the sunset makes you feel like running away is the world going mad or is it just you? what you like about others make it a part of you but don’t dwell on it

This section is like the internal SN twitter. Should it be more emphasized? I think it might get more attention, and thus interactions from users that are not enthusiastic about long-form content, and would still play nicely along the main forum. That would scale SN user-base IMO. I got to build a Discourse forum once, which integrated both a discord-like chat and a fully featured forum, and both forms of communication worked perfectly together, I think that SN can do the same!
reply

We plan to make it (and every thread) more chat-like with live updates.
reply
That would be huge.
reply
Sounds cool! If it serves anything, I can provide full reference on how Discourse is structured (I had to go through the whole thing when I made that forum). It's not that it's an optimal reference, nor it's oriented to the same use-case as SN, but might be of use!

It has been a long week for some, this Sunday are the presidential elections in Venezuela. I read something that seemed so shameless and ridiculous to me, that in Peru there are currently approximately 1.5 million Venezuelans, of which 900 thousand are the voting population, despite them only 589 people are eligible to vote. This is totally absurd, it is not even 1% as the requirements they asked for: permanent residence, passport and ID... The majority in Peru have refuge or "special" immigration status as they call it, some do not have a valid passport because the price is expensive and much less valid identity card, many have arrived more than 5 years ago without being able to return to Venezuela to be able to renew the identity card, and at the consulate they do not process that document, only a passport. In addition to these 3 requirements, they ask for a payment of 120 dollars. My question is, in other countries do they charge to exercise the RIGHT to vote?
reply
Could you comment on this? #619850
reply
Who is they in “they ask for a payment”? Anyway, this is of course absurd to ask for.
reply
The payment is requested by the consulate... but the consulate belongs to the government so... the money goes to the same place
reply
not in USA
not even identification
reply
For the Peruvian elections they do ask you for identification but it does not matter if it has already expired, you are even obliged to vote otherwise you have to pay a fine
reply
Australia has mandatory voting which is a recipe for ballot fraud
High rates of voting such as 92% are laughable
reply
Not even identification? Really?
reply
depends on the city or state
reply
how do they know if the person has already voted?
reply
Each city has a different process
In my city if you vote in person you tell the poll worker your name and address to get a ballot
If you vote by mail (and most people vote by mail in California) you can sign up for an alert via email or text to confirm your ballot has been received by the county election board
reply
I really find it curious that you don't ask for identification, it also leaves me with doubts. I don't even know what to think, anyway they always find a way to cheat no matter if they ask for identification, address, fingerprints or email
reply
It’s maddening.
Another big problem is that voter registration lists are outdated. People change addresses or leave the California or pass away.
Some states require identification 🆔 and it doesn’t have to be a photo. Sometimes a utility bill will suffice
But in places that don't ask for ID, does that mean you can vote for other people? That's very funny.
reply
California passed a law making voter ID illegal. Some cities like Huntington Beach have passed voter ID laws and are now in litigation with the state attorney general.
Most people vote by mail which is less clean than in person.
If you register to vote online, all you need is a driver license (or ID card) number and social security number. No photo necessary. No proof of citizenship.
Many non-citizens have a driver license and social security number.
No vapes or e-cigs. Cigarette's and lighters only today.

Ok. I will give another one which I think is difficult for English speakers.
The sound of J at the beginning of words like the name Jose or the animal Jirafa (giraffe in English ).
To pronounce it correctly you should think in the sound of H in horse.

reply
I am glad of it! Happy to help!

doesn't the j at the beginning read 'r'?
reply
Not in Spanish.
reply
I often hear the 'r' sound at the beginning. For example James Rodríguez
'Rames Rodrígues' But the sound of the first R (Rames ) is different from the second (Rodrígues)
reply
Not sure how you hear this but I can tell that his name is pronounced with the same h sound that I mentioned earlier
I don’t speak Spanish!

Utilities:
All utilities and insurance have already been paid for, by using the credit of the people.
Because corporate government operates as a trust, credit is created by the people’s live Certificate of Birth, and “The Government”, namely the treasury has taken the place as trustee within this trust, meaning they are liable to repay this credit as they are the debtor.
However as the treasury does not want to pay back the debt of the people; they sell this debt to corporate utility companies who then offer a contract to the people to pay them, who in turn will pay back the government, minus a percentage commission.
Note: It should be noted that these utility and insurance companies do not have the right to make you pay them, they require your consent.
The unsuspecting person is usually sent an offer to pay, using a document sent through the post that is usually addressed “to the occupier” and is not signed.
Most people fall into this trap as they consider it a bill, when in fact it’s their own credit.
So to recap, your gas, electric, water, insurance is already paid, that’s why you make RE-payments, as it is the second time you are paying them.
