Occasionally I get zaps on old posts and I don't think much of it because I assume it is due to the algo recommending my old posts underneath current posts.

But I just had a zap of an old saloon comment where @carlosfandango and I were discussing the legendary zapper @nemo. Very odd. No one would find this randomly.
Likely something that was bookmarked by someone or could it be paranemo activity?

I kinda treat n3m0 like the fight club of stacker news. First rule: don't talk about it (them). Deleted all items, and disappeared into the world of anon, so I try to respect them by not directly discussing them. This is how folklore begins! :)

Yes it is normal to get zaps on old posts as people find them but it is quite odd to get a zap on a saloon comment from 10 months ago.

You weren't around at the time but @nemo used to be the biggest zapper on SN.
The artist formerly know as eksyzis or something like that also had a propensity to dart around mysteriously before assuming a more human form. The genuine entity and/or alter egos may also be involved.

I think you might have. Undisciplined and I had a whole thread of comments one day about all the ways we misspelled his name.
Maybe that's why he goes by ek now? I also have a hard time remembering to spell it correctly.

I remember how we all discussed about @nemo in Million Sat days. Those discussions and now your post, I can sense a @nemo may be just here. It's just that we aren't so capable to guess who he is!

No one knows where Nemo is or isn’t. Some say he still lurks on SN. Maybe it is just an SN urban legend.
It has happened to me, that sometimes I notice that a specific stacker reviews my profile and zaps me a lot, it is good to see that.
