In two hours time, Spain makes its debut on Euro 2024. I know that we are always underperforming at these tournaments.
Far away are those years between 2008 and 2012 where we managed to achieve a World Cup championship and two Euro Cup.
This time expectations are no different to recent years. We could be between the last 8 teams, but not sure whether we make it further.
If we manage to win the initial round robin group, we may end up playing against Germany, the host, in quarter finals. Not quite an easy match.
Our main hope resides on a young Lamine Yamal , just 16 year-old boy, who plays at Barcelona. We have also a great player as Rodri, from Man City.
If you look to our team, main issue could be the defence. I am still missing Puyol, Ramos, Piqué,… An interesting fact is that two of our players , Laporte and Le Normand, were born in France.
So, let’s see what this first match bring us. Could be one of these times when anyone does not expect much from you and then you achieve a victory ?
