Just an interesting anecdote. I used to drink 4 or more. Loved coffee. Didn’t want to give it up. But I did a 3 day water only fast. And after that, I didn’t really want coffee for the next few days. Then when I started again I could barely drink a whole cup. Now I’m just one cup in the morning. It’s very odd how quickly a 10 year habit evaporated. I had given up coffee before for a time and it was miserable and I just wanted to drink it again. But something with the fast rewired my brain. I wasn’t even doing it to give up coffee. I used to be a cool programmer, fueling code with coffee and deploying to production like a mad man. But, now I am just an old man, living at a moderate pace, writing code slowly until all my tests pass 😂

$1 ice coffee (any size, no sugar) from McDonald's (daily deal via app). It's surprisingly good.
Pay with my fold card- half the time I get 5000 sats back and it's free.

After 1-2 cups daily for 10 years I quit drinking coffee at the beginning of 2022 to see what impact it would have
The main benefit I’ve observed is that my energy levels throughout the day are more level, whereas before they followed a sine wave. Low upon waking up, high following my morning coffee, then dipping towards the end of the day.
No noticeable impact on sleep quality or other aspects of my life that I’m aware of, but I don’t plan to go back to drinking coffee now that I’m off of it.
