pull down to refresh

The video game industry is currently in crisis, the growth of almost all companies has slowed down since the beginning of the pandemic and the recent news of layoffs in the sector makes the situation darker, with almost 9000 layoffs so far in this year, the majority in Sony and Xbox, the latter having closed several video game studios recently, analysts say that they do not expect to see growth in the industry until 2026, in addition to everything mentioned above, the average gaming rate per player has fallen almost 10%.
In my opinion, I think that all this may be the cause of a saturation of the video game market with video games of not so high quality, focusing on profits rather than the quality of the video game, releasing games on the market that are sometimes full of bugs and mediocre playability, with the mentality of "release it first and fix it later", I hope this changes soon
What do you think about all this?
I think it is mainly due to the fact that they no longer make really quality games.

I’m wondering if part of the problem is similar to what is going on at Disney where they keep trying to insert political messaging into many of the new films and series .
And people are rejecting new big budget games for the same reasons. For example the Steam group against Sweet Baby Inc.

This is a pretty good analysis in which I think you are quite right, when the free money goes away most of them start to suffer, apart from that, the fact of lowering the quality of video games is also another factor, but if we delve into that, it also has to do with quick and easy money.
