I was having my weekly morning walk with my friends yesterday morning and we noticed that the snow on top of the mountains were melting away. Then the discussion went to "next week it was suppose to get as warm as the low 20 C's". Winter had been officially over for quite some time, since all the cherry blossoms in the city had already bloomed then fell, and it made me want to make one more post about winter. So this week, we head to Alexander Falls, which is located in Callaghan Country, near Whistler, BC. The area is managed by Callaghan Country, so we had to pay a fee to gain access to the area. The trail is an easy 2.4km out and back trail with minimal elevation gain. We went there in the middle of winter in January 2022 and took our time to hike to the falls. Due to the location of the hike, which is quite up north, there was a lot of snowfall. It was also snowing on the day we went. Gladly, the falls was not located at high elevations, so the clouds did not obstruct the views of the falls. As well, due to it being the middle of winter, most of the falls and the river / creek flowing from it were frozen, so we were able to see it from up close. It was a nice winter walk in the snow.
Toll booth collecting fees on the drive into Callaghan Country.
Groomed cross country skiing paths and various hiking paths.
We were headed into the woods.
Within the woods.
Closing in on the falls as there was a clearing.
Alexander Falls mostly frozen in winter, but there was still a little bit of water flowing in the middle of the frozen falls.
Little one came off the carrier for a walk on our way back.
Fire to warm your hands near the parking lot.
Again some amazing views. I can't tell you in words how much I love to be at such beautiful places. Though we have Himalyas near us but these mountains in your pictures hold more natural scenery than the Himalyas.

Thanks! You live close to the Himalayas? That's awesome! I have a friend to went trekking there for about a month. Ever since I saw his photos and heard him talk about his adventure, I've always wanted to visit and see the Himalayas. Never found the time or the drive to do so though. Hopefully it will happen one day...

Yes, I live in the foothills of lower Himalyas on the South. The great Himalyas are little far from me but these are also standing so tall that I don't even dare cross them. But I once been to the Everest Base camp in Nepal and needed Oxygen on the way up.
Come over here, and we can meet and do the hiking - camping together. The deliciousness of Indian food would be an incentive too. I would love to be your host and guide.

That is awesome man! I'll take you up on your offer. I don't know when I can make it over there, but if I ever do, I will definitely hit you up and get you to be my guide.
Awesome pics by the way.

I promise, I'll try to make it an unforgettable experience for you, especially with the cuisine and traditions we have.
The best time to come to the Himalyas is from March to June and then mid September to Mid November.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again.
