Hello Stackers!
I almost forgot Throwback Thursday!
But almost is not completely! So here we are with another weekly Throwback!
This week I'm going back to when Adele burst onto the scene with some powerful vocals.
Here's Rolling in the Deep!
Hope you enjoy.

That was the #1 song on the 2011 Billboard 100, so why not follow that with #2?

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I still remember how to shuffle to this!!! This was such an anthem when it was released.

I recognize this song, but it's only a faint memory. I must have heard it while I was traveling somewhere else that summer.

Great track, one of my favourites from the '80's. Funnily enough I had this lined up to post for today's TBT with a few more Ozzie themed tracks.

Crowded House - It's Only Natural

Staying on the down under theme, Crowded House which are 50% Oz & 50% Kiwi, one of their biggest hits from 1991

Inxs - Mystify

My personal favourite from 1987's Kick album, such a good album with so many great songs.
Great video with a slightly different instrumental intro showing the late Michael Hutchence and Andrew Fariss on piano, seemingly composing the song in the studio

Massive track! Havn't heard INXS in what feels like ages! Great shout 0b1 👊

Mental As Anything - Live It Up

The biggest hit from this Ozzie band after it was featured in the 1986 Crocodile Dundee film.

High, Drunk, and Heartbroke - Chase Bryant
I really like this music video a lot. It's an uncut video of the recording session that ended up being on the album. I really wish more artists would do videos like that, I often get bored with a lot of the slickly produced videos out there.
An interesting thing about Chase that you can see in the video, he plays a right hand guitar upside down. He'll sometimes use a left hand model as well, but with the strings reversed.

I remember reading about chase and how he said with his background and his beginnings he couldn't afford a specialist left handed guitar. (I'm not sure they're much different in price now, but I'm sure they would have been at one point). So he learnt to play one upside down. Once you learn something, it's really difficult to unlearn it. Having a LH guitar now would be like starting from scratch.
Crazy talented dude.
reply
He is very talented. I'm sure playing a guitar that way would give him an advantage on certain things, as well as a somewhat unique sound. Similar to the Beatles with Ringo's drumming using a right hand kit instead of a left.
reply
Very probably, tiny little changes in instruments can produce vastly different outcomes.

Very true.

I always like this Adele song. I cant remember the first song I ever heard her sing, but her voice is beautiful. Very strong. Very memorable.
reply
She's got an incredible voice for sure. She definitely has a place in the Music Territorys - Femmes Fatales Hall of Fame. That reminds me I need to bring that back, February was such a great month in the territory.
