Consumerism, appealing to materialistic desires, shortened attention spans, shitcoins… the list goes on.
The consequences of fiat culture have been increasing obvious to us and many of our peers. I’m not writing this to complain about the new current “problem” that’s to occupy our limited brain power. The goal of this post is to get you thinking about how important your role as an individual is and how vital it is to dispel the fiat culture in your own circles.
The death of fiat culture is coming, and we have front row seats. Although it’s quite impossible to eliminate ideals such as consumerism completely, we as individuals have a responsibility to instill better values in our families and friend groups. I’m not saying consumerism is bad, but there’s definitely a healthy balance that we’ve strayed far from.
So what am I implying we do? Be more toxic? Tell the people around us that fiat is evil? Tell them to have fun staying poor? Sure you can go on twitter and tell shitcoiners off but I’m talking about your friends and family here. We are no different than the people we hate if we express these negative attitudes. Bitcoiners are to be looked up to. We must stay humble. We must guide our fellow pre-coiners towards a brighter future.
This doesn’t mean shoving bitcoin in their face. By always being positive, by showing confidence, by always putting your best foot forward and most importantly, staying humble as fuck. This is how we infect the fiat culture. By providing hope to the people around us. Maybe if they’re interested in learning, you can guide them. But like Darthcoin says, pick your pupils wisely.
I do appreciate the many different approaches you guys all have to building a better culture around bitcoin. I only covered one strategy of infecting culture, and I’d love to hear how you inspire the people around you.
