The German government has scored another impressive success in its fight against industry. The long-established company ThyssenKrupp Stahl has announced plans to cut thousands of jobs and massively reduce production capacity in its steel division in Germany due to energy costs. Annual production is to be reduced from 11.5 to 9 to 9.5 million tons of steel, i.e. a reduction of around 20%. Importantly, this should also save a considerable amount of CO2 emissions, which can be seen as a major success for what is by far the most intelligent energy policy in the world. Congratulations, the social sector should continue to experience a boom.

I struggle to understand how the German government can be so stupid.
Surely a robust industrial strategy should be in place if only to prolong the longevity of the ‘State’?

I think that's it. They aren't stupid, they're captured. Political ideologues are wearing the German government like a skin suit.

Governments are not known for thinking long term. In this case beyond the next few months apparently.

I understand, Tom, but surely not all Germans prepared for that, you and your family were smart, so many others are still living through this disaster, don't you think?

History repeating again, is it me or it looks like as soon as Germany is on path to become a dominant power something happens, self-inflicted or not, that makes regress and lose decades before developing again?

What is the end goal of their climate policies? Speeding up a total economic meltdown where a large part of the world population own nothing and are poor? Then you have absolute control?

Europe doesn't have energy colaterals. Net Zero is the attampt to force the others back to the same leveled playing field to control energy prices. The rest is part of the control agenda via cbdc
