Youtube channels that are worth your time

We all know that most Youtube content related to Bitcoin is mostly bullshit, scam, or influencers that are trying to sell you either a course, a product or a shitcoin at worse
But
I think that there are some gems scattered here and there inside the cesspool of Youtube and in this post I want to try to list them and a brief reason why I think those Youtube channels are worth your time, not all of the creators listed here are small or niche

Bitcoin Related Content

  • Matthew Kratter aka Trader University He deserves the first spot in this list, genuine guy that went deep into the many bitcoin rabbit holes and creates good quality content about it. He's a bitcoin maximalist
  • BTC Session Another great channel and I'm sure many of you already know him his content is high quality too
  • Power Laws A small Youtube channel that, unfortunately, doesn't post often but the current videos list is worth watching
  • 21MillionTV Another small content creator that post interesting videos with the battle tested "pill format"
  • What Bitcoin Did Peter McCormack interviewing people from around the world about topics that are related to bitcoin
  • aantonop He doesn't need any presentations, a must watch if you want to know more about the technical side of Bitcoin
  • Dan Held I don't know if you know it but Dan has a youtube channel dedicated to Bitcoin
  • Saifedean Ammous If you read the bitcoin standard or the fiat standard you know who this guy is and if you haven't read those books you should really do it

"Crypto" Content

  • Phillion He doesn't talk only about cryptocurrencies but he has done a few small documentaries about it that are worth watching
  • Coffeezilla The one and only cryptoscam detective

Rene Pickhardt - short tutorials about LN Ioni Apleberg - animated videos about Bitcoin, very good ones for nocoiners BitcoinTV.com - one of the most concentrated place with videos and channels about Bitcoin, a must follow ChainCode Labs - deep dive into bitcoin and LN, very good technical videos Simply Bitcoin - daily wrap up and shaming shitcoins Kevin Rooke - very good interviews about BTC/LN Satoshi Radio Connect the world - really nice interviews with node operators and LN in general

Here I have some recommendations but they are in Spanish:
Lunaticoin - Very talented Podcaster with great guests.
EstudioBitcoin - An amazing website to learn about many aspects of Bitcoin by Lunaticoin & Arkad with many curated articles and tutorials by other cool people.
BTCAndres - Maxi who shitposts a lot and makes fun of shitcoins on his Twitter, posts good educational content on YT.
Decentralized.₿ - Has in-depth mid/high level tutorials to set up things on your btc node. And also runs a site with tutorials.
And last but not least we have an extremely passionate Lightning user: ₿lueMoon She mostly posts really insightful content on her twitter though.

  • CRI: is a hidden gem about Bitcoin especially the video about private keys was incredibly good to understand how secure they are.
  • Bolt Fun: projects and other presentations about building on LN.
  • Ministry of Nodes: is all about setting up your own BTC and LN node.
  • Base58⛓️🔓: presentations about Bitcoin and LN related projects and education.
  • learnmeabitcoin: has a few great technical Bitcoin videos.
  • Hodl Hodl: most videos are transmissions from the Baltic Honeybadger Conferences.

This isn't exactly Bitcoin related but I highly recommend Fall of Civilizations. They make long 2 to 4 hour episodes about how and why historical civilizations rose to prominence and collapsed. I find it fascinating to hear how human empires of the past made similar mistakes to the ones being made today. Listening to these podcasts knowing about Bitcoin really gives you perspective on how lucky we are to be the first humans in history to have access to this beautiful, superior technology.

Bitcoin Related

Till Musshoff - Makes great video essays about various concepts in Bitcoin. He also covers creator economy and productivity topics.
yungfi - Used to make Kurzgesagt-like animated videos about Bitcoin. Style has shifted to more editing and graphical representations.
What is Money Show - Discusses the philosophy of Bitcoin, Austrian economics, and freedom in long form interviews.
EconClips - Least Bitcoin related of the bunch, but they have great animated videos on Austrian economics.
Explore Crypto - Another good video essay channel about Bitcoin. Has more casual content than Till.

Other Content

Academy of Ideas - Makes great videos about philosophy, psychology, and politics. His content has a sophisticated feel, showing classical art related to the topic at hand.
Mental Outlaw - Has awesome (and often funny) videos on privacy and security. Some of his videos can be very technical.
NetworkChuck - Teaches you about IT and coding. I learned about Docker using this videos.
hochelaga - Covers the strange, fascinating, and sometimes creepy aspects of religions. His videos are very even handed, well edited, and entertaining.
ColdFusion - Makes well edited and well narrated videos about the history of various topics, mostly focusing on business, economy, and technology.
