I've got some friends (like me not eligible for either of these charts) who moved to Norway and are loving it. The Nordic countries are always super high on these lists (and somehow produce the most horrifying and disturbing crime novels out there, way worse than anything from the classic crime-writing enclaves in the US, Japan, and France).

I can copy that, have some relatives who live in Sweden, previously in Norway. I watched Bridge, I think it was called like that, and it was good.

When you're chilling everyday, you will seek action somehow.

The older I get, the more isolation and quite I seek.

I'm <30 yet being alone is the best for me.
Probably being introverted and appreciation for relaxation is a factor.
reply
It's good to here. I think there is a lot of value in isolation.
reply
Respect! I am not sure I would be able to be isolated or live alone.
reply
It doesn't need to be all the time.
A good chat with a friend is great, but being in a crowded place for too long is a draining experience for me.
reply
Yeah. I really enjoy connecting with people when it is the right setting. Usually one on one. Most interactions feel draining.

I guess if you live in Tel Aviv you are far from Gaza except Israel is a tiny country

It seems so, I also wonder as far as I know they have 2 years of a mandatory military service… why would anyone be happy about that?
reply
I'd be curious when the data was collected. If this was largely from the first three quarters of '23, it might make sense.
reply
The charts are based on this work. There is quite some information there, I can’t find the exact collection period for Israel. But I am pretty sure that the war has changed the country a lot.
reply
hahah no way I belive that data!

What about younger old souls?

What a shame not to see my country in either of the two tables, I bet that these tables would have indicated my country if we went back 20 years, I'm talking about Spain, the Nordic countries seem to be doing things very well in terms of quality of life we mean.
reply
No asian countries in the list? That's so strange?
reply
Studies or ranks made on surveys are all idiotic and not based in reality.
reply
Why do you think so?
reply
Because they are totally subjective and fully dependent on the moment and situation and the incentives given to the participants.
