Now that I got your attention haha
Today’s question is how you feel about being known as a BTC maxi?
Ofc some of you will wear this label as a badge of honour. You see it as validation for your life choices: healthy distrust n disdain for shitcoins, anger towards banks and ruling governments, pouring of your energy into building the BTC ecosystem.
But does it trigger you that no-coiners automatically stereotype you as toxic? Or you just don’t give a damn about what others think?
I believe that Bitcoin is the superior monetary technology, and I don't mind if people know this about me.
The tribalism within the community strikes me as... peculiar. I suppose it evolved partly as a defense mechanism and partly because Bitcoin attracts libertarian outcasts who are happy to finally have a place where they belong, rallying behind a cause that actually has legs.
Personally, I don't really identify with the tribes. In fact, I find many of the most celebrated laser-eyes to be more intolerable than the shitcoiners themselves. The latter are, for the most part, simply gullible, greedy profit-seekers, and are so retarded that I can't even be mad at them. The laser-eyes, on the other hand, exhibit a weird virtue-signaling dynamic where purity is the highest virtue. That's gross and cringe in equal measure.
I simply do not care if user AssBlaster69 blows $100 gambling on HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu tokens.

Thank goodness somebody said it. The laser-eyes thing is really off-putting and goes against the “stay humble, stack sats” mantra that most of these people espouse.

I don’t mind if they organise sats giveaways on X, though haha

Your comment is hilarious. Thanks for the chuckle haha

Most bitcoiners are contrarians, and as a previous shitcoiner (who lost money betting on losing horses and NFTs) I can honestly say that there is a peace and serenity with leaving discord groups full of people trying to hype each other up whilst secretly wanting to dump their bags on those people in the future + endless people entering the group to shill their special brand of shit. Once I joined Bitcoin telegram groups, the shilling stopped. I learned something very important, everyone is hoping that others will value their token so that they can sell it and make more USDC or BTC. This is just the cold hard truth. So as Pierre Richard and Bitstein like to say, "Everyone's a scammer", they all want your bitcoins. Additionally I learned that whilst my fellow shitcoiners were consulting with lawyers and talking about their favorite brand of paid tax software that can untangle the endless buys and sells and staking of DeFi, bitcoiners are talking about self-custody, not reusing addresses, non-KYC, peer-to-peer transactions and opting out of the fiat system altogether. Who cares if people say toxic, HFSP. Scam someone else out of their precious sats, I'm not a mark anymore.

What does HFSP mean?

Maximalism is not a badge of honor or contest podium. If somebody is putting himself on that podium is no different than any shitcoiner.
Toxic maximalism is a defense system against shitcoiners. Is like a shield that nothing can touch it. Your maximalism increases in time, once you gather more knowledge about Bitcoin. Your level toxicity increases proportionally with the level of shitcoiners stupidity trying to impose it on you. More shitcoinery = more toxicity. Until you kill them with the toxic poison.
I lived 4 halvings (including this one about to come). You cannot imagine how much shit I saw all these years....

I see how you distinguished maximalism from toxic maximalism. I guess there’s a difference

I had a conversation with a friend earlier about getting into bitcoin. Its totally not worth having, they never want to consider it. Everything about bitcoin is toxic to the people who have no interest in it.
reply
Start by talking about the inherent injustice of fiat money. That's something most people can agree on, and even if they never thought of it before, it will open their eyes to a new understanding. People won't understand Bitcoin until they understand how the existing system is broken.
reply
I think most people’s mental gears are stuck trying to make more money rather than go deeper to understand why their money doesn’t serve them

And who do you think fault is? Not shitcoiners? They were infecting all the information on internet, confusing normies and nocoiners.
reply
Shitcoiners have a lot to amswer for, but the news pushing the fear has more to answer for. Everyone just turns on the tv and listens to the fear pushing like its really news.

Maybe you sowed a seed and s/he will come to understand the wisdom of your words eventually. Fingers crossed

Believing in Bitcoin is far from the most off-putting thing about me, so it doesn't feel like much of anything.

I can’t wait to see you in your combative mode

For OPSEC reasons, very few people know I am a Bitcoin maxi other than online, where I only talk about Bitcoin anonymously.
I don't care if people think I'm toxic, because I AM toxic in spaces like Twitter where I emit big HFSP energy to shitcoiners and routinely pick on accounts who are obviously there to manipulate people away from Bitcoin.

You are the hero we need but don’t deserve haha
