I know it's hard to see through the propaganda curtain, but Putin has no strategic interests and no military capabilities to occupy European states. there are other interests at play here that stand to gain from the escalation.

Which European states are you referring to? Not sure Estonians would agree with you. And doubt anybody in NATO has the balls to say enough of this shit. Putin is a psychologically sick individual, so predicting what he will do, does not get you very far. Ukraine was also in Europe and here we are.
