You can't take money from the devil and expect not to have some issue arise. If Microsoft is funding them, it is to get them in one way or another under their control.

Do you really believe what you're saying? How will Microsoft or Google control an open source project? The direction and goals of OpenBSD have been very specific for decades and in fact they don't stray in the slightest. Now where you are deriving what you are saying I don't understand.
Microsoft is monitoring this project and many others for reliability, security and of course the SSH that everyone uses. Whether it's BSD, linux or Windows users...
