Kind of a big deal given how popular they are.

Nice, I was not using the Phoenix wallet I was using to sign in at all. But does it mean that a new profile will get created if I sign in with Blue Wallet? Is there a way to add "sign in wallets"?

I believe so. The "linking key" is derived from the master key-pair generated from the wallet.

LNURL-auth only works if your mobile is a LN node am i correct? So if Wallet of Satoshi wants to be able to do this, somethings gotta change on their end?

LNURL-auth simply requires deriving a site specific signing key from a master key. The master key doesn't have to be related to your lightning node.
