imagine the following timeline: satoshi would have coded bitcoin with an indefinite yearly 2% inflationary issuance schedule.
question: would you own bitcoin today?
consideration: this is not a psyop about changing bitcoins issuance. the question is simply if you would still own bitcoin, if it had all the same characteristics it has today, without the fixed total supply.

Like the 2% central banks target but more accurate because set in the code? Seems to be taking away a lot of bitcoin benefits...probably still better than fiat how would it differentiate from shitcoins over time?

the predictability is what’s most important to me. i prefer fixed supply versus predictable inflationary schedule. but i’m okay with either.
it’s impossible to be predictable if it’s open to people changing it, however.

Would change a lot. I’ve done a very deep dive into mining economics… would have to trash all I know. Can’t answer the question.
Would that 2% compound? What would happen in 50 years? How much would be issued?
This would change a lot. It wouldn’t be bitcoin anymore.
