pull down to refresh

I came into possession of an old Bible some time ago, a compilation of the Old and New Testaments. I'm not typically an avid reader of religious texts, but I find the writing style, especially the old font, fascinating. Occasionally, I delve into the book, although it takes about 3-4 times longer than usual as I often have to look up certain letters and words.
I don't read it very often, as you can see, since it has aged over the years.
What is the oldest book you own, and what is it about?
Some SN libertarians might appreciate my copy of Lysander Spooner's No Treason

Did you also have trouble uploading the picture in portrait mode?

Apparently!

Btw many universities have a professional book digitization service. At my university you can sponsor/godfathership the digitization of e.g. chronicles from the 1600s. You could do that with your old bible. Would be a bummer if this old thing degrades and gets lost to time

Thanks for the tip! I'm just not sure if it's worth it for my Bible since religious old books are quite common around here. I think it might be different if you have old factual or historical books. Unfortunately, I believe digitizing them costs more than the book's value. Mine is not as old as the 1600s...

That thing looks awesome.
