Let's hear some of your latest Bitcoin purchases, feel free to include links to the shops or merchants you bought from too.

If you missed our last thread, here are some of the items stackers recently spent their sats on.

Pizza last weekend, and I really need to onboard my fruits/veg/smoothies people this week!

reply

Did you tried on https://farmfoodmap.org/ ?

Very good initiative if you want to onboard local farmers!

reply

I bought a Christmas raffle worth 2,000 Satoshis and you pay by lightning and I can win the sum of all the participants, the raffle is small and there are only 100 numbers.

If anyone is interested in participating, here is the link where you can buy your number.

I’m always skeptical for this kind of things, how do you know it’s trustful? Sending some sats to real devs is cooler ;) imo

reply

LOL I paid the electricity bill to a stranger in El Salvador.

Just today, I paid my groceries man almost 100k for a shopping basket. Over LN, paid upfront the order. with 55 sats fee.

Do you feel that paying and opening a territory could help more Bitcoin adoption?

reply

Hopefully. I was hoping to attract enough Spanish-speakers. Some of them may not be proficient in English so it would be a nice place to provide Bitcoin information in Spanish. But so far it looks like there is not enough demand.

reply

Aren't the two things interconnected anyway? As in: earning sats = running a profitable business in the Bitcoin economy = Bitcoin adoption? And let the free market judge what provides value and what doesn't. Over time it will work itself out.

reply

free market for the win

reply

I think they should, but first you need some pragmatic conviction because this is not a "profitable" business per se. At least it should be sustainable.

reply

If you did that just for attracting more spanish speakers into SN... props to you! But if you do it just to earn more sats... you will feel my force choke.

reply
reply

Whoa, darth memes used against the man himself

reply

once again demonstrate that my memes are good. The question is... Can Darth choke himself with the force? The answer is no. Impersonators just want to use his memes in their own interest. Once again... Darth is right.

reply

If you build it they will come

reply

Nice! What territory?

reply

The only thing I can say in Spanish is: Una cerveza grande por favor

reply

That should be enough to start a conversation 👍

reply

reply

I always try to be polite and don't show my disappoinment haha

reply

polite germans... LOL speak the fucking truth I don't like your fucking piss beer!

reply

Haha, yeah, you know Germans can be direct. You don't know my feelings about warm beer yet!

just say: "Una cerveza Volldam por favor. nada mas." You will see the difference.

reply

También aquí se utiliza lúpulo bávaro para la fermentación hahahahaha

V4V always and everyday

reply

Today I bought several nintendo gift cards through bitrefill, will give them to my little cousins this Christmas 🎅

reply

Nice! I hope they changed their refund policy. I made several purchasses, the cards weren’t available anymore so they refund me with “bitrefill sats”. Money that cannot be withdrawn..

reply

I started a Photography territory (sub) on SN

Come add photos and enjoy!

Bought a miner, my first x)

reply

Which one, and where from?

reply

S19 from KaboomRacks.

reply

Nice! How much, if you don’t mind me asking?

Edit: also, that’s a hell of a first miner!

reply

1,997,278 sats. After some research it seemed to both make sense for me and also reflect my initial commitment for mining, which I'd been meaning to get into for several years.

reply

Airbnb rental with Blink 🤓

reply

I haven’t yet, but I considered buying a miner from d-central via LN

Also, I posted before about paying a contractor in Bitcoin for doing work on my home. He declined the offer, but that’s ok.

reply

Will be coffee today at a Bitcoin meetup.

reply

Bought USB hub from shopinbit.com.

reply

I like to browse this weekly post after more stackers are posting their spending and see where they spend. Are a good inspiration sometimes.

Bought this on nostr, handcrafted leather wallet, directly shipped from Canada to Europe, the shipping being as expensive as the product itself lol

The tx was sent directly from my self custodial node to the recipient's Phoenix Wallet, pure P2P tx for almost no fee. #lightningisnotdifficult
