I often wonder if the public nature of the blockchain will hamstring Bitcoin down the road. Every UTXO has a history and it's obvious that some amongst us want to control what people can do with their money. Watching OFAC banning some addresses and watching miners heed those sanctions is pretty chilling. It hurts Bitcoin's fungibility and fungibility is pretty important to functioning money.
