In school skill and hard work is generally rewarded. But in the real world skill only matters up to a point. After that it's more important who you know and whether they trust you

Don't procrastinate and go over scenarios and dreams in your mind too much. The first step is difficult if you're thinking of trying a new project, going to your job or even doing exercise but just going for it and then getting it done without the mind playing out that movie first, is often the way to open doors to fulfilling a goal. We regret what we didn't end up doing more than what we've done.

Learning through experience is the best method. You can theorize & study for years, but nothing beats actually "doing" it

Prof (easy life) > Post docs > doctorates > students > undergrads

Even today, it's a bit hard for me to lower expectations. Work, relationships, life in general. I learned that even if everything is going well, there's a chance of failing. Enjoy the good moment, prepare for bad ones. And read between the lines, the untold truths.

Experience in a specific subject is the beginning of the next internship. Cultivate!
