Probably satograms

reply

What the hell is satograms?

that’s a good one, looks like 64k satograms sent to date, half of which probably hit WoS wallets.

payments on WoS are nearly up 100k/week though, so feels like there should be other contributors too.

reply

LOL this is it! make sense the spam.

reply

See? This is the beauty of LN: nobody knows what users are doing over LN, not even custodial services! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hear that chain -anal? You are fucked, obsolete, meaningless.

This surge is huge! This is pure signal!

reply

Oh they know. If you think they are giving @kr full access to their database then you're dead wrong.

reply

not really. They will see just a bunch of txs between WoS users but not with my wallets, for example.

Don't get me wrong, I am not praising the use of WoS. I am praising the use of LN.

reply

yeah i don’t have any info beyond number of payments

reply

It was the btc23 conference in Innsbruck Austria.

reply

Was there and all the plebs payed wit WoS or Phoenix

reply

doubling the amount of txs, is quite big for a conference. How many users were there, 100k ? I doubt it was that only.

reply

are sure its not nostr activity? people have been experimenting with zap splits recently, turning 1 zap into 130 zaps with a single tap

reply

it could be, the zap experiments seem like a plausible explanation. i was mostly looking at nostr usage and noticed that adoption hasn’t spiked up.

reply

Do we have any way to verify these numbers? Or do we need to trust WoS?

Can you think of any incentive they might have for inflating them? Perhaps a search for funding or similar?

reply

personally i don’t have a way to verify these numbers, i’m operating under the assumption that the data they share is correct

reply

Satograms, anywhere from 7 to 15 sats being sent with urls in the notes. No obligation to check out the URL. Let the Sats flow.

reply

they are about to sell the company?

reply

I started dealing with WoS because it was the most convenient app...

reply

It's the number of new users coming on the platform

reply

Maybe some new game or something? Probably not though, that’s a pretty large increase
