Simple guide:

Step 1: Go to https://lnvpn.net/ and choose your option of the country and your time period. You can even buy it for an hour!
Step 2: Go to WireGuard’s website and download their client. The link: https://www.wireguard.com/ You can choose any platform you use.
Step 3: Generate new pair of keys on lnvpn.net and pay your ⚡️invoice! It will then suggest you to download the file with vpn config(or u can use private key to configure it manually) — download it and open in WireGuard’s client.
That’s it! You can now connect to your vpn and use it. For instance, It’s pretty handy here in Russia because the government bans the major part of popular VPN on a regular basis even when they change their servers time to time. So it’s nice to have this little service to use when it’s needed.
Mullvad VPN also accepts Bitcoin as payment. Since 8 July 2010 (!!)
I Have used it. It's really good. No lightning yet though.

There's a Mullvad LN top-up service: https://vpn.sovereign.engineering/
works great, and you can even buy voucher codes with LN without revealing your account number
Awesome work!
I am a huge fan of these privacy-focused projects, supported by lightning.
Not too long ago there was a project called ln-sms.com which would give out temporary non-kyc phone numbers. Unfortunately the website no longer is active but I loved the idea. I would love to use these services in combination
reply
There is a new site now: sms4sats.com
reply
I've tried using sms4sats.com several times. Never once has it worked properly without issue. I now use https://temp-number.org instead. It's a little more pricey, but works 99% of the time, so is worth it.
reply
But you have to create an account! If you have to create an account for something like that it is a complete failure imo. We have Lightning to rebuild these services but without accounts and credit cards. sms4sats.com always worked for me.
Yes, from SE Asia, I've noticed that big VPN providers end up getting identified and blocked by the likes of Netflix and Amazon. I'd be interested to see if this works because it is obscure. Of course, any centralized service will eventually get squashed. How about this, but decetralized? What if we could all offer some network traffic for sats in our home country?
reply
That’s what impervious ai was doing initially I believe. Sounds like there’s still demand for it.
reply
Perfect, a classic use of Bitcoin. Now with no on-chain footprint.
reply
Agree! I love the idea of simple services like this, it's just works! Perfect and without any noise and useless information around it!

Anyone in China tried this?
reply
Uh, I'm going to save this. Thanks!

This is a very interesting concept. Anyone tried them out? Share your experience so I can understand more.

I gave it a go. I like the workflow and everything seemed pretty straight forward. Paid the invoice and was presented with the wireguard.conf . Scanned the QR code with my phone and enabled the tunnel. **Connection does NOT work for me. **
I bought 1 day's access to USA server (9AM Singapore Time on May 1).
Maybe someone else can try. Here is my wireguard.conf. Connection is supposed to work until May 2nd, 9am Singapore time.
[Interface] PrivateKey = YKQywW92eYisnrUe96T2SEhf3SfgC2iiAJE5Lj0EglU= Address = 10.8.0.43/32 DNS = 1.1.1.1 [Peer] PublicKey = T2Rs6GA5d9Wcxa5TysQahaF6O/GRWvliUNv7BvxVsx0= PresharedKey = mOtYCqt8SaIJcNw80lWYPtRVy9hZH8W0OVkrDPfHVxs= Endpoint = 5.161.92.1:443
Site offers no obvious support mechanism.
Careful, connection info is presented once. No obvious way to access it again once dismissed.
reply
We are working on a FAQ. You can not access your connection info again because it is never stored, so always send it via email to yourself.
I tried. Found this service just a few days ago and it helps me. Tell what exactly do you want to know about it? Maybe I could help.
reply
Why would you want to pay hourly, though? What's the advantage? Serious question.
reply
Same way with Bitcoin. Someone can say: why do you need Bitcoin? Cash dollars is perfectly fine! Yeah, but for someone from a less efficient country wouldn’t say that.
Same here. For instance, government in my country is banning VPN services weekly, so you need some simple back door for a moments when you can’t connect to your major vpn service but you need a lil bit of vpn time to actually connect to your major vpn service website to change your settings and to find new servers.
That’s my case!

This sounds awesome!. Have not tried it yet but I sure will. GR8 Work :)
