Depressed. I lost my cowboy hat yesterday after 58 days and making it into the top 5... someone took my normal computer at work and I got out of my morning routine. 😭😭😭

I wonder what YouTube would be like if it had the monetization model of Stacker News. No ads, just sats. The ability to send some/all sats to another user would also be neat (e.g. make a video using another user's content, and compensate him by sending 80% of the sats to him.)

That would be a very cool idea to explore at some point. I know that the Brave browser team had that BAT token experiment where you could give it to content creators. Super cool on paper, but I'd rather be transacting with sats.

Have we thought about doing an international get together of stackers?

I ran into a very well known Stacker @ Lightning In A Bottle last year. I suggest you get your tickets soon.

Hey you!! Good morning!! Friday is here and the weekend is about to begin, can you feel it?? One more work day and time to relax and enjoy, it was quite the week so you deserve it! Yesterday, I said to do something, a small change, my change was to make a good deed and smile to anyone I interacted with, I gotta be honest, it made my day feel so energetic and by the end of the day I was doing it automatically and it felt really great, I'm thinking about doing it for 20 more days and make it a habit, not going to lie, it was tough at first, specially with some unpleasant situations but managed to fulfill the test. How was your experience? I hope it went amazing as well. I wish you a phenomenal Friday my friend and give it your absolute best today, you've got this. Let's see what the tide brings. Be well my friends and stay frosty!!!

@koob et al, here's a simple idea for a SN feature:
For every SN post (and possibly treating aggregated comments separately) compute its embedding. Then, at the end of the post, display the N closest embeddings as "similar posts". It would be cool to have some more continuity, and promote some ever-green-ness, esp given some of the topics that tend to garner attention.
You could even make it a paid feature, cost 10 sats to get 5 most similar comments to a target comment or whatever -- I think comment similarity would be especially interesting.
I've been doing something sort of like this w/ my personal notes / ideas journal, and it's been awesome. The connections it unearths are super interesting.

We have a related section under every post. Is it just not very good as is?

Wow, I am an idiot -- I never clicked on that before. Jesus. Sorry.
That said: embeddings feel like magic when you work with them -- I've been amazed at the level of "insight" (for lack of a better word) that they find, e.g., entires that have a deep semantic similarity, but little surface similarity, are identified as being close together in embeddings space. Very much like real human insight feels in practice. Have a look sometime when you get a minute.

"As regards the first set of dangers, it behooves us to remember that men can never escape being governed. Either they must govern themselves or they must submit to being governed by others. If from lawlessness or fickleness, from folly or self-indulgence, they refuse to govern themselves then most assuredly in the end they will have to be governed from the outside. They can prevent the need of government from without only by showing they possess the power of government from within. A sovereign cannot make excuses for his failures; a sovereign must accept the responsibility for the exercise of power that inheres in him; and where, as is true in our Republic, the people are sovereign, then the people must show a sober understanding and a sane and steadfast purpose if they are to preserve that orderly liberty upon which as a foundation every republic must rest."

Today I will attempt to see a Gastroenterologist. I'm hoping to figure this problem out before my company fires me for missing so many days. Of course i'm 90% convinced i'm sick because of the situations I went through for work. What wonderful irony, I'm not making any money, spending a bunch because my insurance sucks, and worried about losing my job. Well...I wanted to do something blue collar...
