Earning Sats With Slice? \ stacker news ~bitcoin

I signed up with Slice recently. I use the Brave browser, but I never set it up to earn Brave tokens once I realized that I couldn’t withdraw them without KYC to trade for bitcoin. I’m still within the 30 day lockout period, so I haven’t withdrawn via LN yet.

I know I’m not likely to make my fortune with Slice. I just like the idea of having a painless way to earn a few non KYC sats with little effort. So far, it seems painless and the earnings easily match Fountain and blow away Bitcoin Magazine App.

One drawback- There is no mobile app, although I guess you could use a mobile browser with extension support. I haven’t tried that yet.

I’m wondering what other SN members who have used it think of Slice?

i think it’s a great tool for getting newcomers onboarded to bitcoin.

it’s basically teaching people that their time is worth something, which is a powerful lesson after a decade of being bombarded with ads on google/facebook/youtube with no money to show for it.

The idea of you changing absolutely nothing in your day-to-day life and earning a few satoshinhos is very interesting. It was due to Slice that I added my first satoshinhos here on SN and started using the platform. Obviously, you can get 1~2k sats per month. It's not much, but at least it's KYC-free satoshis and not just any shitcoin.

I like it, I would like to see them add support for nostr front ends simply because I spend time there lol, would make slightly more then :)

The lock up period is a bit of a ball ache but as someone who has run a campaign with them too, I understand they are dealing with fiat payments that can be charged back via PayPal so they don't want to leave themselves exposed

BTW, your article is what got me to try it. People should read it if they're interested. I can live with the 30 day lock up. Like you said, it makes sense considering the risk they take paying some people in fiat.

I have only been using it for two weeks, but my experience is the opposite. I have earned over 2000 sats and I hardly have noticed the ads. Weird.

Someone else said something similar. It was about 6 months ago I tried it so maybe it has been improved. Are you using it with a VPN? I always have my VPN on and I think sometimes that screws things up.

I've been using Slice for a while, but my problem is that it doesn't seem to work with Mullvad browser which I recently switched to.

I turn my VPN off and on. I'll pay attention now to see if I notice a difference. I also use an ad blocker, which is helpful if the faq is accurate. Only slice ads appear, and there's less competition, I guess.
