- Why would I open a channel with a random node? What is my advantage?
- You can use any swap service to "drain" your filled channels. Read here: https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/lightning-network-submarine-swaps
- a 100k sats channel is TOTALLY WORTHLESS
If you don't know how to manage the liquidity of your node, why do you open a public node?

Assuming we want adoption, how does a node operator, allow for clearnet connections to a btcpay website?
Are we to assume that normal day-to-day people will use/wait for TOR connections?

Who are you connected to that I would want to pay?
Why couldn't I connect to them directly without going through you?

I have no experience running a ln node, however it seems to me that opening a channel is something akin to an on-going buisiness arrangement.. with a prostitute. You should know who you're getting into bed with so to speak.
