I hadn’t logged into Stacker News for a while. What caught my attention were some posts related to the Israel/USA vs. Iran conflict.
Personally, I support an attack by Israel/USA against Iran, because I want Iran’s military bases and its nuclear weapons development centers to be struck hard. I also want Iran’s military power in the region to be weakened as much as possible.
I see the Iranian regime as a global problem, not just a regional one. I consider Iran a very dangerous state. Israel feels directly threatened by Iran. Iran has hostile rhetoric toward Israel, and it has attacked Israel many times indirectly by funding groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas.
The region would become more stable if Iran is weakened militarily.
So, I would like to emphasize that such an attack also has human costs. Innocent civilians could be killed. However, if Iran becomes even more powerful, with such an aggressive regime, can be a much greater global risk.
P.S. Many people here may disagree with my position, and I would be interested in hearing their counterarguments.
This war of aggression against Iran was solely done for the sake of Israel - the "greater Israel" project.
Iran was not a threat. We're in this disastrous, unwinnable war because Israel wants us to.
Important to remember Israel was created by Britain, and is a MI6 forward-operating-base to influence the region at the behest of London's globalist empire... the British invaded Iran in WW2... before Israel was even created.
Iran was industrializing in the 70s, steel, nuclear power, etc... working on a new monetary standard with France and Germany. Severe threat to London.
The CFR in the mid-70's wrote about a controlled "deindustrialization" as a path forward for the 80s and thus the 79 oil shock was manufactured.
What's important now is that the US takes that control back from MI6 to remove that lever of control over the region... chaos benefits that empire of insurance and international monetary standard. We see Israel getting exposed as the puppet regime they are, killing people Trump is negotiating with, rogue attacks, and generally trying to undermine the end of chaos.
They don't have any, they don't even know history... it's just beatniks that virtue signal about war bad, trump dumb ... me smart. Trump has no plan, nor does the the entire MIL/IC have any more info than these hipsters got from fake news.
