Where did you get your first sats from? I got my first sats from a bitcoin faucet app on a android smartphone in 2016. What about you?
Bought $50 during the 2017 boom on Coinbase. Didn't get it at the time. It took a while for the light bulb to light up.

If we are talking on-chain, I purchased them.
If we are talking off-chain, it was on SN. I hadn't actually received on lightning from another party until I built it.

Bought them on Paypal in November 2021, just after the all-time high. Not the ideal time or place to start your Bitcoin journey...but you gotta start somewhere. Just like @Fezzy, I have been learning and DCA'ing into cold storage every since.

This is the way!
Buy on CA and transfer on chain or through Lightning Network!

I buy on Gemini now, lower fees, but I do like CashApp, I find it very easy to use and was great for onboarding.

Bought from Cash App on Jan 2021 with a quick speculative thesis that shutting down GME trading will bring decentralization as a better financial system. Sold a couple of weeks later with 10% profit.
But, it was the beginning of the journey.

A hooker (sex worker) told me about Paxful, so my first was truly peer to peer.

Bought it at LocalBitcoins.com in 2016 and got hooked and started watching videos from Andreas Antopolios and learned the phrase " Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoins" Been DCA buying since then 😘😍

Bought them from the evil empire Coinbase in late Nov 2016. It felt so good to close my coinbase account last year. So much potential but Brian allured by the shitcoining profits has destroyed a once respectable business.

Greetings friends, I got my first Satoshis thanks to one of the oldest and most reliable faucet web pages that exist, freebitco.in, and at the same time I was playing in a couple of well-known apps, surely many of us have this anecdote in common, it all started here, since then my curiosity grew more for Bitcoin, it was like love at first sight hehehe, I have not stopped learning, now I promote Bitcoin. For a global adoption, Bitcoin forever. Have a nice day.

Cashed out a 401k from a previous employer rather than roll over, took the tax hit and bought Bitcoin off an exchange in 2021. No regrets.

I purchased my first sats with an exchange called bitx, after an interview, the company said I should "get some bitcoin" if I am to understand what its all about lol no regrets here

A friend of a friend gave me $10 worth of bitcoin in 2016 for downloading a wallet. Took me a few years before I researched it.

I thought I was really clever in February 2018, buying what was for me a big but actually modest chunk on coinbase. Then I sat for two years waiting to break even.

From this faucet called Cointiply. When I started out, I withdrew Doge because the minimum was lower but I quickly learnt my lesson because BTC is King

I first heard about Bitcoin in 2017 from a friend. He told me some FUD and I took his word for it and quickly dismissed it. Then in 2020 the topic came up again. The same friend started spouting energy FUD but this time I was smart enough to know something felt wrong. It just didn't make any sense to me so I started down the rabbit hole. At first I got distracted by crypto and thought the aim of the game was to trade for more dollars. Then one day after listening to many many opinions from lots of different people something flipped my mindset and I realised it's not about dollars, it's about sats. I started seeing the world through the Bitcoin lens and everything else in the world started making more sense. I've been stacking weekly ever since and doing what I can to contribute.
