I used to love boxing but every fight seems like a cash grab clown show now.

FFS.

Last night I realized that we should obviously have picked any combat sport as the answer to where we'd get exposed fastest.

I imagine any normal person would be knocked unconscious within a few seconds.

Boxing you might be able to dance around ring for 30 seconds if you have good footwork but once your opponent sniffs out that you are a fraud it's over. In MMA I think you will be knocked out or submitted in under 10 seconds.

reply

30 seconds is a long time, but maybe if you happen to draw a fairly conservative opponent

Yeah. 30 seconds might be optimistic. I still think you have a better shot at lasting longer in boxing than mma.

reply

For sure. You're literally dead after a few seconds in MMA.

I agree. It's a shame. I think the MMA stuff has hurt the sport.

reply

I do think MMA has been part of it but boxing hasn’t done itself any favours either.

Two words: Don King.

At least Don put on some good fights. But I get your point, he really started this slippery slope from sport to side show. Netflix seems to not care at all. They will put any event on that will get views.

I will say Netflix has done a good job with WWE production though. I have watched a couple of the major events since they started with Netflix and the production is really good.
