This sounds really tragic. It's interesting to me that they say that they're looking for help, but no one is sharing the kidnappers' demand address. It seem to me that this would make it possible for the whole world to be help out. I can also see a scenario where that might put the hostage in danger. I don't presume to be even close to an expert in law enforcement, but law enforcement also hasn't proven to be the best at investigating on-chain. In the meantime, we can pray for the victim and family.

More bad press for Bitcoin.
I imagine they don't want people to try and help. In a kidnapping situation, that could be dangerous to have amateurs interfering.
What's weird to me is that kidnapping seems to be an extremely inefficient form of getting money. Makes me wonder if there's something more personal underneath it all.
Criminals that get caught tend to not be the smartest.
I think the smarter ones we never hear about. So I would assume kidnapping is a proof of a lower IQ criminal. Or a society with extremely low trust. Which I have written about. We are shifting from high to low trust in the US. I suspect we will see much more of this sort of stuff.
We are reaping what we sow honestly.
This is a sad story
