2 months for a million users to withdraw dozens of bitcoins?

reply

They need to make a 20 dollar device, plug it in, create private keys and a LN address, and thats it. Too much friction right now

reply

Hope not this trend continues. I bit frightning tbh

reply

After reading the article again, its not that bad actually. Was too early with my reply and too late for delete 😳

Can you EL5 what i have to do to save my LN sats?
I have LndHub installed on my Umbrel OS , i created a LN Wallet on BlueWallet app using the link from my LndHub, what now? Do i have to open channels etc?

reply

Your personal LndHub instance will still function normally. BlueWallet are only shutting down their custodial LndHub instance at lndhub.io.

reply

I have no experience with LndHub. Was only unjustified worried about the decision of BlueWallet. I think competition to Lightning Network makes it only stronger. But your question is more about the usage of LndHub, which I am not familiar with. Good luck.

reply

Not your keys not your coins.

Not your utxos, not your lightning sats.

reply

Curious if they are getting pressure from the letter boys (IRS FBI CIA)

reply

Wow. Kind of sad. The technology in lightning is really advancing rapidly.

reply

I don't think it's sad at all. Kudos to Blue for encouraging self custody.

reply

Not your channel not our sats :)

reply

So today I went to pay to a merchant and she couldn't receive the payment because BlueWallet. Awful experience and bad rep for bitcoin.
It was a bad move to announce this by surprise without a grace period.

reply

Exactly I've actually never seen a bluewallet user successfully pay me (I'm a merchant).

So it's good that they got rid of something that never really worked

reply

If somebody wants to run their own lndhub: we maintain an API compatible version written in Go: https://github.com/getalby/lndhub.go
It is has no run-time dependency and is deployable. Currently it is using PostgreSQL for data storage - but SQLite would actually also be supported.

reply

Is there a way to migrate from Blue Wallet to something else and maintain or my connections with Alby / Stacker News etc?

reply

I'm afraid there isn't. You will have to unlink and link to your new wallet. I would make sure beforehand that I have a backup method such as email to avoid getting yourself locked out.

reply

WoS next, then Alby.

Agreed, moved my sats to SN. This will force me to learn to set up my own lightning node which I have been putting off since there's just so much to learn.
