Looks like Blitz Wallet has a new website (and a new URL?)
In case you're not familiar, Blitz Wallet is one of the Spark spawn:
And while we know that Spark has some limitations when it comes to claims of self custody (#1020261), I think Blitz may have done a better job integrating Spark (#1251232)
Days where CoinOS has troubles (#1416930) may nudge one in a new direction...
Blitz goes where the funding VCs tell them to go...
They started with a crap mix of Liquid and ecash... it didn't work well.
Then the VCs told them to go with Spark, because Marcus family is pumping now a shit ton of money funding clueless devs... that only look to get the money,. they do not think about consequences.
Blitz made it great for receiving payments without being online.
that means are NOT your sats.
is this similar to rizful, with 0-conf private channels opened from a central node?
I don't believe so. They use Spark. So you don't have a channel. They say it is self-custodial because Spark has a guarantee that you have unilateral exit to the chain -- but if you have 100 sats, you clearly cannot do anything on chain...so I would say for small balances it's pretty much the same as custodial.
Lightning makes it even more complicated. As far as I can tell, you do some kind of swap with whoever is running their lightning gateway (which I assume is Spark or the Spark entity?) So at best, it's like Boltz, and you have similar trust assumptions to that. At worst, you pretty much just have to trust whoever's running Spark's lightning node with your sats.
I need to learn more about this, so perhaps someone else who knows more can correct me.

redesign. thought you said red sign, as in red flag 🤣
oh man, i've been awful with typos lately.
100% self-custodial is deceiving marketing.
It wouldn't hold up in court.
