Breaking news (Jan 16): DOJ is probing Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey for allegedly “impeding” federal immigration agents. Meanwhile, in the Renee Good shooting, the feds are running the investigation into the federal shooter. Minnesota’s BCA says the FBI took lead and the state lacks full access to run its own full use-of-force investigation.

That’s the pattern: the federal government investigates the federal shooter, and then investigates the state officials who criticize or resist the operation.

And the video evidence people have gathered is exactly why that matters. What’s been collected so far doesn’t read like a clean, last-millisecond defensive shooting. It reads like avoidable lethal force followed by a narrative sprint. I’m not asking anyone to accept a conclusion. I’m asking for the only thing that settles it: full-resolution, time-synced footage, a clean chain of custody, and an independent review. If the footage shows the shooter truly in the vehicle’s path at the first shot, fine. If it doesn’t, then the story being sold is backwards.

It gets worse: credible reporting says DOJ leadership pushed prosecutors to open a criminal inquiry into Good’s widow / possible activist ties, and career prosecutors resigned rather than carry that out. So the spotlight shifts from shooter → widow, while the shooter’s accountability lane stays federal-controlled.

If you want legitimacy, show the mechanics and the process:
• full-resolution, time-synced video
• clean chain of custody
• independent access to evidence (or a truly independent reviewer)

Because otherwise “trust us, we investigated ourselves” isn’t accountability. it’s insulation.

Homocide is a crime in Minnesota. They should absolutely not be deferring responsibility to the Feds on this.

Arrest the agent and let him stand trial.

"If this is accurate, Good was killed by a bullet fired after there was any conceivable argument Agent Ross was in the path of her vehicle, which means there was no legal justification for using deadly force. But DOJ says there’s no reason to investigate."

Deputy Attorney General: Calling 911 on ICE “Very Close to a Federal Crime”Deputy Attorney General: Calling 911 on ICE “Very Close to a Federal Crime”

“…encouraging citizens to call 911 when they see ICE officers, that is very close to a federal crime.”

— Todd Blanche, U.S. Deputy Attorney General (the second-highest ranking official in the Department of Justice), speaking in an interview segment aired by Fox News and quoted by Fox News Digital (Anders Hagstrom, Jan. 18, 2026).

Note the absurdity: Truthfully calling 911 isn’t a federal crime. “Federal crime” territory is false reports / hoaxes (swatting) or other misuse — not “I saw federal agents and I’m calling dispatch.” Framing ordinary civic reporting as borderline criminal flips the baseline: seeking help and creating a public record becomes the suspicious act.

DOJ is investigating whether Walz and Frey impeded federal immigration enforcement, including through public statements.

Minneapolis is literally publishing a public notice for vehicles abandoned due to ICE detention. Meanwhile DOJ’s probe is explicitly about whether Walz and Frey impeded immigration enforcement through public statements. That’s the shape of this: policy by spectacle + legal pressure.
