Ziya Sadr is a pretty awesome Bitcoiner who does a lot of arabic-language tutorials about Bitcoin topics. I don't know him personally, but a number of people I trust know him well and have worked with him extensively.

While not currently based in Iran, he has been posting updates about what is going on there on his X account. If you are looking for a good source for information there, check it out.

Here is what he posted today:

For those who cannot believe the 12,000 number for #IranMassacre, I can only say that it is probably much higher. And the number will grow even more, once the regime starts executing those who are detained. The regime announced that the first execution will be tomorrow. check: #ErfanSoltani and spread his name.

I know how evil this regime is because I was a political prisoner during the 2022 protests; some of my cellmates were executed. I lived my whole life in Iran until two years ago. My friends and family are still there. I've received messages from them. Also there's been many firsthand accounts from doctors in hospitals and protesters on the ground that confirm different pieces of these numbers. External sources also confirm reports of these figures. Even the Islamic Republic regime itself admits to a few thousand so far, which, based on its (full of lies) past, is a huge understatement.

There are hundreds of videos from Tehran alone showing people receiving the bodies of family members, with hundreds and thousands of bodies lying on the ground, in warehouses, or in trucks.

There is a countrywide internet blackout #DigitalBlackoutIran , making the flow of information extremely difficult. We have no media journalists recording footage of these atrocities. We rely on citizen observations and recordings, our past experience with this regime, and investigative research to build the picture.

If you want to see how the 12,000 figure surfaced, it comes from @IranIntl's sources. They also declared that they'll be open to handing over their evidence to any relevant entities:

You can remain in disbelief and wait a few months until more videos, family records, reports, investigations, and journalists provide further evidence—while the regime hangs thousands more who are already detained.

If you want to see for yourself and can stomach it, watch the dead bodies and blood in these videos:

arabic-language tutorials

Farsi uses Arabic script. Although i speak neither language, i believe his videos are in Farsi.

Thank you for sharing. Dark times for humanity. Praying for Iranians.

reply

You are right. My memory us that he called them Persian language, and I just blanked on it when I was writing. But maybe it is Farsi.

reply

And now I know that Persian = Farsi

reply

ha-ha! I considered a few different polite ways of telling you, but I gave up and left it at a zap because I liked your humility. Glad you came to it on your own.
Ziya is a G btw. I shared his Oslo talk back in June, the last time the IRI was making headlines.

reply

To what extent are US and Israeli operatives behind the protests in Iran?

reply

I don't know. I do know Ziya a little, and therefore, I trust that he isn't making up stuff.

reply

No doubt he speaks what he sees and believes but he is silent on the extent of US and Israeli operatives driving the protests.
The current situation in Iran goes back to when the US and Britain removed the elected prime minister of Iran and installed their puppet shah to enable oil flows and profits to remain under US/British control.

Mohammad Mosaddegh was an Iranian politician, author, and lawyer who served as the prime minister of Iran from 1951 to 1953, elected by the 16th Majlis. He was a member of the Iranian parliament from 1923, and served through a contentious 1952 election into the 17th Iranian Majlis, until his government was overthrown in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état aided by the intelligence agencies of the United Kingdom (MI6) and the United States (CIA), led by Kermit Roosevelt Jr. His National Front was suppressed from the 1954 election.

Oil is what keeps the petrodollar alive, which is what keeps the fake fractional banking Fed system alive. Had bitcoin spread faster, all this could have been avoided. Bitcoin will kill this whole system one day eventually, but the faster the better. Maybe they are panicking about Bitcoin, since it makes Gold reserve system obsolete, so they want the next best thing - Petrol, under their total control.

What Ziya Sadr is sharing is terrifying but also crucial for understanding the scale of what is happening in Iran right now. The combination of an information blackout and a government with a long history of suppressing and distorting the truth means that outsiders will almost always be working with incomplete or delayed data. That makes firsthand accounts from people like Ziya and those on the ground not just valuable but essential for constructing any accurate picture of events.

The numbers being cited will naturally be met with skepticism by some, but as we have seen in countless authoritarian crackdowns the true figures rarely surface immediately. They tend to emerge months or years later through survivor testimony leaked documents defectors and independent investigative work. By then the damage is irreversible and thousands of lives may have been lost or destroyed while the world waited for confirmation.
