Yeah. With the unlimited possibilities to build client apps.
I was thinking about an app that can make posts with approximate geolocation and with #hashtag to get connected nearby people using same #hashtag
and when can we expect a project like this to work in a non walled garden ?
its great for the smartphone folks, but what about us linux desktop folk?
what's interesting to me about this though:
the thing runs in apples sandbox or on f-droid right? okay. I don't know if there's a similar equivalent on the android platform but i wouldn't be surprised if it's connected to delta-wave.
but as far as apple goes....
the secure enclave processor.. isn't even in the phone. the phone builds it in you.
off topic, but -
what's to stop apple from building in some sort of HAL that just decodes nostr keys, and then this whole thing is a moot point??
I don't trust apple farther than they can be thrown, which is why I don't use their devices.
I've been look forward to something like this. But, this particular app will have trouble catching-on until it works with at least one other client (esp. a desktop client). And that will require that this app to be open-sourced. The sooner it's open-sourced, the sooner other developers can start making interoperable clients.
I am interested to see how this app handles relay outages. Because how a Nostr client handles relay outages will make-or-break that client in the eyes of users in the long-run. In case the developer sees this, I have ideas for how to deal with relay outages.
Yes. the app should be available in all possible platforms to make adoption faster. Like how telegram web and desktop clients happened before whatsapp.
