I stopped using the #BirdSite after fElon bought it and moved to Mastodon and I said it here. And then someone here replied to me with just "nostr > mastodon". I have to say at first I thought it was an idiot, LOL, but I looked at Nostr and after a few days I almost stopped using Mastodon too (I toot a little from time to time), and definitely went purple all the way. So, I found Nostr because of SN and Mastodon.
Wow, I found Mastodon years and years and years ago back even before the bitcoinhackers server launched, and gave up on it then because there was nobody home. Then I think about 2 years ago we had that thing with the GAB community starting up a federation server, and the rest of mastodon said loudly in unison: "Discommunicate these nazis" so they proved there was censorship there afterall. I haven't looked at them again since.
I found nostr 2 days ago bc a friend posted a tweet about it. Then I got getalby.com and then I found SN through lightsats.com I learned so much in these two days. lol

Actually, not Twitter. I found out about SN from Googling about El Salvador. I found this (excellent) post: #97082 Also I was troubleshooting my node on r/lightningnetwork and someone mentioned that Stacker News is a better place to discuss bitcoin and LN. Made my account and I'm thankful to find a community with strong signal instead of cheerleading moonbois or drive-by FUDsters. I didn't even find out about Nostr from Twitter either lol, it was Swan's 'Bitcoin in 2023' video
Twitter -> Nostr -> SN. Starting to clean up other platforms which I hardly used anyway. Deactivated and deleted IG, removing Reddit account next. Nostr has my attention, I’m using Damus for mobile and Gossip on a laptop. Lots to learn here. Thus far, SN seems to have a great community of users and high focus on the type of content I am interested in.
