Switching between mobile phones used to be easy. Then came eSIM.

SIM cards, the small slips of plastic that have held your mobile subscriber information since time immemorial, are on the verge of extinction. In an effort to save space for other components, device makers are finally dropping the SIM slot, and Google is the latest to move to embedded SIMs with the Pixel 10 series.

After long avoiding eSIM, I had no choice but to take the plunge when the time came to review Google’s new phones. And boy, do I regret it.

I get the frustration eSIM feels like one of those changes that’s sold as “progress,” but mostly benefits manufacturers and carriers, not users.

Only really clueless people couldn’t see that 'swapping eSIM' cards between phones was going to be a headache!

When you think about it, we don't even need carriers to communicate since there are so many ways to do it. The problem is that the laziness of the people around us makes us use this kind of shit. I hate using WhatsApp; I'm already working on ditching it this year.

WhatsApp is a Trojan horse! 😂 Every now and then I get an automated SMS from WhatsApp asking me to sign up, just because some friend texted me through it. Yeah, I know, my number’s already in their database. Fuckers!

Until I know Bitcoin and much more things that I know now this was not a huge problem and I was not a person that have to be reached by others. Now I’m becoming one, so I could claim “if you want to talk me, you’ll have to be allowed.”

Another thing. I might be oversharing, but one thing leads to another. Phone number, if we have one, is it okay to change it often?
