VPN.

I’m working in have my own bitcoin spending method where I pay someone in bitcoin and that person pay in fiat bill. This is for the necessary consumption of companies resistant to accepting bitcoin, while I work on local adoption.

Privacy first, well done! Can I ask which VPN?

It's amazing that you can find someone to pay bills for you, and it's great for creating your local bitcoin network. I remember @DarthCoin doing something similar

If I remember good, there are also some services that offer to pay bills in fiat for you. Can't remember which one.. bitrefill maybe?

Mullvad.

This was a good tip from Darth, better than giving sats for treasure companies.

Bull Bitcoin offer this service, it isn’t available in my region. I used bitrefil sometimes. I can’t trust their services so much, because I don’t know what they do with that Bitcoin.

good point, probably better not to know. P2P works always better, well done finding your peers and creating a community around you, not easy.

I paid for my Luna Node account with LN sats. I also made an end of year donation to Alex Goldstein's HRF with LN sats

That's great! A donation is a great way to close the year in positive and start the new one optimistically.

Is not the first time I heard about Luna Node services. What's your experience with it so far?

I really like it so far. I am just using it for my satwize.com BTCpay server right now. I don't use it to host an additional LN node, but I might down the road. I really like the simple bitcoin BTCpay option. I use LN. Payments are fast and simple. Its very easy to set up an account, and your privacy is respected.

We still evaluating options for our BTCpay server, LunaNode seems really easy to setup, I found now a tutorial with video, I'll add it to the options list!

The way we are accepting Lightning now is through @rizful wallet, connected with BTCpay server via NWC. So no need to run a node, just need the remember to cash out every now and then.

This week: only mobile phone data for both of us.

Only? I think is great!

Just for statistics, is kyc needed to get a mobile phone number there where you are?

reply

Yep, kyc required. At least through the normal channels. As foreigners, we needed to show our passports.

I wouldn't be surprised, though, if South Africans, crafty as they are, have their ways to get one without.

lol, there's always options. Maybe not so convenient as the one with kyc. Thanks for sharing
