Well, I don't really agree that it's a black eye for Trump. It's a much bigger black eye for the Democrats, Tim Walz, and progressives more generally because it exposes how easy it is for people to steal government funds.
You're right its bad for Tim, but not a surprise. I think most people have known and suspected that the entire "refugee / migrant" situation was a scam / money laundering operation / vote buying scheme for years.
