“Which transparent coin bank do you want?” I asked my son.
“What’s the meaning of transparent, btw?” that was my real intention of asking him to make a decision.
“let light pass through it,” he replied. Okay, he passed my formative assessment. He had replied “let light go through it”, which I think is not as scientifically rigorous.
“Light travels in a straight line,” I persisted in my efforts to impart some Science knowledge. Need to move on to shadows once he internalizes this.
It is important that he gets a transparent coin bank so that he can get a good dose of endorphins when he observes his coins piling up.
Looking through my photos, I think transparency plays an important part not just in my professional life, but also during my leisure time. I love watching the locals at work whenever I go overseas. I can’t help wondering the efforts they must have put in in order to master their craft, whether they like their job, whether they are used to strangers staring at them. I love musing about the nature of work, and transparent windows help me indulge in this endeavour.
