I'm pretty sure when I looked into this, the only payment method (at least the only one open to me in the US) Mt. Gox supported was to literally stuff an envelope with cash and address it to Japan. I couldn't bring myself to do it!
Oh, Dwolla. That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time.
So then I look at their site ... $67B in annual transaction volume.
Taken from obscurity to Fintech Heaven in a matter of mere months, thanks to Mt. Gox, Tradehill, Bitfloor and a couple others.
Regardless of what he got involved with after but Jed mccaleb was way ahead of his time and super talented
It most definetly was an important milestone. If there was no MtGox Bitcoin may have never taken off.
And then, after buying, you left your coins right there on MtGox, safe in the knowledge that these coins would be secure forever and ever...
